THE BEGINNING
In the early 1990s, three Midwestern insurance salesmen were paying
attention to their customers. They were listening to stories of ill health that
led to the loss of family farms and businesses, and realized that there was
something missing.
Missing, was a product that would help hardworking individuals and
families conserve their resources and protect themselves against financial
devastation caused by the rising cost of health care.
Wayne Briggs, Platinum Services' founder, set out to develop the product
that he heard his customers asking for. After a year of working with the
nation's top insurance agencies he developed a Long-Term Care
insurance product unlike any other — affordably providing the protection
people needed.
In 1995, Briggs and cofounders Eric Lucy and Mike Muench launched
Platinum Services, Inc. They began selling Long-Term Care insurance
locally, and immediately implemented a plan that would deliver this product
to individuals and families across several Midwestern states.
Platinum Services has grown dramatically since those early days,
because company leaders continue to do one very important thing —
they listen to their customers. With what they learn, they develop exclusive
products designed to help people meet adversity with preparedness.
TODAY
Today, Platinum Services has over 140 representatives serving 14 states
and are working to establish a national presence.The company continues to
offer Long-Term Care insurance and has
added Cancer, Heart Attack & Stroke
and Accident & Disability products
all underwritten by the reliable
Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Company based in Glenview, IL.

Platinum Services is headquartered in downtown Dubuque, IA in a
beautifully restored historical building.
In 2003, a near-century-old, former candy factory on Main Street was
purchased, and in keeping with the company's mission to preserve, the
building was transformed and its history was respectfully
archived.
By choosing to give an old structure new life, Platinum Services'
founders provided employees with an inspiring place to work and
contributed to the revitalization of Dubuque's historic downtown.
