In September 2007, he started suffering multiple strokes and was in and out of the hospital several times for 3 months until passing away in December. “We bought our policy back on July 27th, 2006. We already had a cancer policy and heart policy with another company yet Platinum’s gave us a lot more benefits for the same cost. Neither (my husband) or I had any cancer in our families, but more heart and stroke issues. To our surprise, as early as April 1, 2007 (my husband) was diagnosed with leukemia. “We enrolled in the Cancer Heart and Stroke policy with Platinum Services in 2006. We actually had coverage with another company but Platinum’s policy gave us much better coverage, had more advantages and was more affordable. We were hoping to never use the coverage, unfortunately my husband had a stroke just a few months later. We received our money in a timely manner and Platinum Services was wonderful to deal with. We were very glad we took advantage when we did. This policy was a true lifesaver. I work in accounts receivable for a corporation that owns thirty nursing homes. “We purchased our cancer policy in May of 2006. We thought it was smart with the policy being so affordable and also having a history of cancer in our families. We did have good health insurance but after retiring it had changed about three times on us. We just weren’t sure how well we were covered. When I went in for my physical in July, my PSI was just up 1 point but we were sent to a urologist anyway. Good thing, because just a couple of days after we were covered with our policy, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The benefits were a big help financially. We had 42 trips to the hospital 32 miles away for radiation treatments. We received more than $11,000 and feel fortunate to still be covered if cancer were to ever come back. Because of so much non-medical costs associated with cancer we would strongly advise everyone to get one of these great Platinum Services programs at some level!”

“We purchased our policy back in October of 2001, knowing that costs of long-term care can be catastrophic. We really liked being able to get our money back through the Return of Premium feature. In November of 2007, my wife needed to go to the Alzheimer Unit in Mattoon, Illinois. It’s been very easy collecting on claims and every month since, we have received a check for approximately $2,800. To date we have already received over $60,000. It has really helped out with the costs! I’m glad we were wise and applied for the policy when the agent showed it to us. Our reason for buying Long-Term Insurance was we wanted to pass our farm down to our kids, because the nursing home costs would wipe us out! We were fortunate that we did not need to use the benefits, but (my husband) passed away in 2003 and I got a check for $5,000 for all of the premiums he paid in for 5 years! “We purchased Long-Term Care policies issued on 01-10-2005. (My wife) later had cancer and had to have home health care and went into the nursing home before she passed away on 01-11-08. I recently purchased a Cancer, Heart Attack & Stroke policy because I wish we would have had it for my wife. It would have really helped with the trip we took to Mayo Clinic after it was discovered she had internal cancer, that in the beginning just showed up as a rash. I would encourage everyone to take advantage of these programs because they have no idea how expensive this type of care can be.”

“We bought our Long-Term Care policies back in 2002. I was surprised at how quickly our policies got to us. We thought buying Long-Term Care was a good idea because we had to put our father in a nursing home and he was there for four years and we could see how expensive the care was. What we really liked about the policy was if we didn’t use it our premiums would be refunded back to us. Unfortunately, my husband passed away, and I got all of his premiums back.
